I've been stationary to long (2months) in east Texas. Will spend Christmas with grandkids then off I go. Getting a severe case of hitch itch.
Where to go from here, west, to Arizona or southeast to Florida, or maybe a little further south in Texas?
How's the weather been in those areas. Y'all let me know.
Jim

I would base the decision on something other than how the weather is the day you travel, since the weather can change. A few years ago we wintered in Florida and most of December was unseasonably warm, then it cooled off and was one of the colder winters Florida had. Last winter in Arizona we would have cool (cold) weather a week, then it would warm up, then cold, then warm and in March we set some records in the high 90s in the Phoenix area. We spent a March week in the Rio Grande Valley (The Valley) of Texas where we had daytime highs in the 50s some days and 90s others.
Anyway, choose by what you are interested in, how you like to camp and how much you want to pay. On average for full hookups, rural Arizona is cheapest, with Texas next, and Florida off the coast or further north next. But you can find deals and higher prices in all these states. Do you want to see green plants, Texas and Florida. Desert, Arizona. Want to use solar, Arizona since further east cloudy days are more common. Each area has its special points, find the ones that match you the most. If you can't decide, take the shortest route or roll some dice.

I'm thinking a pair of dice and a spinner with E W N and S for making those tough decisions. DW and I have sworn off planning. One day at a time.

El Tojo, I have a small place right on the lake, have not done any fishing lately. Just getting things in order for next adventure.
Having hail damage finally repaired from South Dakota storm in late summer.
Mark, I too like your method of planning-no planning?
I guess sometime after the first of the year I'll get up one morning and decide today is the day and take-off in some direction.
Thanks for the information.

That is what got that conversation started...if we were to get up tomorrow and be free, where would we go? Neither of us had a clue and we liked the freedom. We know we need to go to Denver to have the bed built for the truck but beyond that we are flying by the seat of our pants.

once you finally fly to the unknown and land somewhere because your heart said "Right here" you will get the addiction.....the old 4 hours thataway!! starts working real well......each stop has new friends with new tales of new adventures that you just have to see for yourself!!!!...................little by little the seat of your pants seam to start having wings of a 747.......just make sure you keep a little Jimmy Buffet....to keep that happy moment going!!!!!

I hope my wife doesn't read this! If she thinks full timing will make the seat of her pants as big as a 747 she'll stay home. LOL! Me on the other hand can't wait for the "Right here addiction"
Keep the motivation coming Mike!!! Looks like we're becoming short timers as home owners. Passed all the physicals....YEAH! Talked to the Realtor today, we'll finalize the paper work Jan 8th and be on the market Jan 15th. This wouldn't be so hard if I didn't have the house of my dreams with RV parking and a two car shop!
