I am newly retired ( going on 6 months now), single occupant, that enjoys traveling (spent 5 years doing it for my job), contributed my part, now learning to live for me. I'm still downsizing, condensing, and simplifying. After working for wages for 52 years, learning to play for creativity, learning, and more productive ways to contribute to the greater good for my grandkids and greatgrandkids and the world. Lots to learn about how to do this. and really like this site. Thanks, Jesse and Sherry for telling me about this.

Peggy,
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You will soon find that the participants here are eager to answer questions and give helpful advice. There is a lot of knowledge within their heads and helpfulness, friendliness, and encouraging natures within their hearts. We are like a great big wonderful family with just a few old grouchy types, but I think all families are like that. Feel free to ask questions as the only topics we try to avoid are religion and politics.
Well I know La Junta, Colorado. And Rocky Ford and other points along that highway towards the Oklahoma Panhandle, where I grew up. In about 7 months, we will be retiring from our jobs in Oklahoma City and moving to Colorado Springs. Then, Colorado will have one of the old grouchy types moving in.
Glad to have you with us.

Welcome from another wannabe. This is the best forum to ask questions and get honest, thoughtful answers. My husband and I used to be fulltimers in our 40s and want to get on the road as soon as we pay off med bills. We will probably be workampers again because our retirement income will not be enough to cover expenses but we'll have the freedom to choose what we want to do, not what a mega-bucks corporation orders us to do. Our favorite song line is "On the road again".

Thank you everyone! I traveled for 5 years as part of a job, on their money, hotel rooms and b&Bs and rental cars, but managed to carve out 3-day weekends to explore the area, generally 1 state per month, and have a lot of beautiful country I want to revisit at leisure. Since I'm on SS and Medicare, I will probably workamp also. Again, thanks for making me welcome.
