I awoke about 6:50 AM; to a room spinning; at least that is what my eyes envisioned. It took a few attempted tries to get out of bed before success. Came in to the easy chair; took my Blood pressure; 155/108; sat and turned on the TV; the motion was to much for my eyes to bear. I then got all my meds together; called the VA ER nurse; who told me to either call 911 for an ambulance to the local ER ( expensive unless Life Threatning; VA won't pay ). Retook the BP; 148/96; I decided to try and make it to the RV park office and find someone to take me. I unplugged all electric except for the fridge; and the heat tape.
Opened the door and the Park owner rounded the corner; stopped and asked me what was wrong; I told him and he said jump in; I'll take you. "Nobody wants to tell me God don't send Angels to the rescue." He drove me the 20 miles to the VA hospital and waited about 3 hours for me as his left eye was hurting from Melanoma he had removed Tuesday.
The ED took me right in and hooked up the monitors and ran some tests; the results are it may have been bronchospasms---the airway gets constricted. My blood; urine and vitals all turned out good. I have an appointment next Friday the 22nd with the primary DR. so long as I have no more symptoms; then I was told to return before.
Yes the heart conditions and other acute health problems can sure make one on edge when abnormal things happen! PIEERE

Just gotta love the way He puts willing helpers in strategic places at just the right time! I'm so glad your park owner was there for you, and that your tests came back good. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Pieere,
So glad that it wasn't anything real serious. Hope you are feeling better now. Basically, people are good and will help when they can. We just always hear about the bad ones on the news.
Take care,
Jim

Ditto what Penny & Paul said. Hope you will be all right.
Forgive me if this starts a political diatribe, but it just makes me SO ANGRY how the government treats (or doesn't) our honored Veterans. EVERYTHING should be free for you, in exchange for your service. It's just so sad what you have to go through for your benefits.
Prayers are with you.

Thank goodness you are OK. I agree that we never hear about the good people and this post reassured us that they are out there and ended on a happy note. Gosh, this could never qualify for the news, too positive. Take care.

Some better this AM. Still feel somewhat weak; blood pressure is getting more normal looking. At my appointment next Friday Will ask the primary DR. for a bronchial dilator AKA. Puffer. I really don't want to go the oxygen route unless I absolutely have to. My breathing rate was normal. Said my lungs look great for a 44+ Yr. smoker; and yes I quit 1&1/2 yrs ago.
I have to remain as positive and upbeat as I can as I have been told this is good for the heart; mind and body; it seems to have worked great.
And Cheryl this is a quality VA Heath Center; the DRs. And NP's seem to really be concerned about our health care. Because I receive the Pension from the VA; I qualify for completely free health care except for dental work. I am quite pleased going from nothing to what I have now.

Pieere, Glad you are doing better. But I can't help thinking about your Park owner. Let him know your RV-Dreams friends are thinking of him and hoping for a full recovery. Pat K

What a guy. Take you to the ER and wait without concern for his own discomfort. He is a hero. Hope the doctor can provide you some relief. Glad it was nothing critical.

Everyone take notice of Ed's location in Shady Acres, and if you are in the area and can, give the park owner some business and visit with Ed as well. I see that as TWO good possibilities. When you give the park your business, tell the owner why you are doing so.
