we had one that we could hear making a nest in the Styrofoam in the ceiling of our 5er one time. I went to Lowes and bought a couple of those "sonic" pest repellents. They plug into an electrical outlet and are supposed to drive them away with the high pitched noise they make that the pests can hear. I was skeptical but didn't want to use poison and it die where I couldn't get to it. I removed the inside vent trim and, using an extension cord, put the little noise maker as far back into the attic area as I could and then plugged it in. We heard the noises again that night but it must have been Mickey packing his bags because we never heard him after that.
I was pretty skeptical about these but it seemed to work, for us anyway, and I now have one plugged into an outlet inside the rig all the time.

We use a product called Fresh Cab from http://www.earth-kind.com It has a pleasant smell IMO that rodents hate so they leave. If you use a poison they may die somewhere in your rig leaving you with a very unpleasant reminder that they were there.
We had a mouse in the ceiling above our bed around the roof antenna crank arm. I have an unused AC electrical box in the ceiling that I removed then placed a packet in behind. I had birdseed stored in our basement that they found. (No longer stored there) I placed a couple of packets behind both ends of the inner sidewall. They were also getting into our kitchen drawers via the plumbing from the hot water tank under the counter. I placed a packet there after plugging all holes around the water and electrical lines. Problem solved. I still leave a trap set up in the basement just in case plus it lets me know when it's time for a new packet if Mickey shows up again They usually last about 2-3 months.
I tried a similar product on our Alaska trip last summer when I was unable to find a Fresh Cab dealer. It only worked for a month and was 3 times the price. Fresh Cab works!
Good luck!

Or the pieces of stryofoam were in the ducting from when the RV was built and recently became dislodged during recent travel or use of the A/C fan on high ?
Our unit is 20 years old and we still get construction debris from time to time. Mostly in the overhead light lens but once in a while from the vents, especially after travelling on bumpy roads.

set a couple traps they dont hang around unless they have a food source.....like others have said , dont use poison or they will die somewhere you cant get to them.
simple peanut butter in the traps will answer your question......under the sink and stove area is normal hangouts.....if you have pets ,they will steal from the pet bowls

x2 on it might just be left over pieces of loose stuff coming out of the vents. Any signs that it's a mouse for sure like tell tale signs of little droppings any where?

Don't use poison. Use Glue Traps. Put something in the middle of Glue Trap that mice will kill for. They get stuck in the Glue and die. You toss it in the garbage can.

I've talked to a couple of people who used those Sonic Pet Repellers and they claimed that they did work. Rodents have sensitive hearing so certain frequencies may be very uncomfortable to them and they leave.

Put a string on the glue trap and anchor it down below the ceiling. If a mouse catches one foot on the trap it can drag it somewhere inaccessible and die.

What a coincidence! Just came across this story that explains how Fresh Cab came into existence. Very interesting.
Thanks for posting this Vance. It's a great story...we use it and it works!

we are leaning towards nesting stinkbugs.......stinkbugs are everywhere here....and no evidence of mice. no droppings, no sounds, no dogs hear them. must do some research.....
