For me home is where the rig is parked and Dale and Tazzy Kat are hanging out. When we first decided to go full time my boss was really cool with the idea. His only requirement was that I make sure we're staying where we have data and voice connectivity and if I have to fly, Dale has to get me to an airport. Given his art show schedule that brings us into many metropolitan areas, we felt we could make this work, I usually only have to travel 4-8 times per year so not, a lot of travel. My first client related travel occured while we were in Couer d'Alene ID but since my client was in Spokane WA, that was easy, I drove in for the day. No big deal. Tonight I'm sitting a hotel in a Dallas suburb while Dale and Tazzy Kat are enjoying a pleasant evening outside of Sacramento. Last night I was having a hard time, really didn't want to make this trip, hated to leave my home, etc.
Needed an attitude adjustment, I am so blessed to have a job I can take on the road, a job I like, a job I"m pretty good at and a boss and teammates who are totally supportive.
Tonight while chatting with one of my teammates, he told me half the team is a bit envious and more than one of our team members is now thinking about down sizing and trying to break away from the traditional home ownership route. I've had a few people actually thank me for making them "think outside the box". One co-worker is going to try it out this winter, they will be snowbirds in AZ this winter. They are so excited to try it, they thought they would have to wait for retirement and he told me I'm 100% to blame for the fact that he will be missing a Minnesota winter as he is headed to AZ this winter. We'll be meeting in Phoenix and he told me dinner is on him!!! Oh yeah, his wife wants to "pick our brains" during dinner so it might get messy!!
Attitude adjustment complete, we are so blessed and yes, I might have to leave home a few times a year, there may even be times I fly out of one airport and back into another while Dale relocates during my client related travel, but it's working for us. I'm not tied to any specific office location, we are no longer tied to a S&B and we have our freedom!!! LIFE IS GOOD!! Yep, attitude adjustment is completed tonight

There you go, Ruth. Leading poor little innocent people astray.
However, straying from the rat race that can be home ownership and suddenly having the imagination to think that all of the U.S. could be one's backyard can be a good thing. At least you know where to steer them to do some of their research for the lifestyle.
Good job, Girl.

Ruth,
If you two can manage it with your schedules, anyone could! It's complicated for the two of us retirees and you both work different schedules and places. Love that you're totally out of the box. Yup, Terry's right, you're going to be leading a lot of folks astray!

Trailer Villa? We stayed at Gold Country RV. It was a nice park. We only wish we weren't so busy.

Wow, what a reaction from a few people that I met with today!!! I'm either getting the "are you crazy look" or wait, tell me what, how, when, etc. type questions. It's hilarious, one of my colleagues asked me where I lived and one of my teammates who knows me pretty well started laughing and said, she lives wherever the weather is perfect!!! OK, so that's not always true but I did have 3 really good conversations with people who were truly curious and not in a bad way, they just wanted to know how it could really work. I'm having so much fun as I watch people really get curious and while many of them will not make this change, it is causing a few to think about why they still have a home when they are just itching to travel.

I love to see the expressions on their faces. After they ask all the questions and try to wrap their head around it and then see your 'home' they see you have all the conveniences without the yard work, taxes etc., that they really begin to get it. Right now we are in Indio at Indian Wells Resort, and it is hot. We are missing the northern CA weather.

We love those questions too, but you're getting them from working people which is even more fun!
Loretta, can send you some Oregon weather if you'd like, I'd kill for some serious dry heat about now! 😄
