I had forgotten about this website until I was doing some research and came across it again: www.arfc.org/rvs I could not get it to copy and paste for some reason. It can be interesting to look through though to get an idea of the types of issues that occur.

I didn't explore the website any, so I don't know what one would find under each heading. I did notice that not all brands/models are listed in that list. For instance, the DRV Suites models aren't listed. I will add that there will be recalls of "systems" such as brakes, awnings, refrigerators, etc that are not RV brand specific. So far, we've seen two recalls related to our RV, although one of those is for the entry door locking mechanism, which is shared with a lot of other brands as well.

Terry: Thanks for making a workable link. The issues they list are safety issues. I know with our van, it is a 1993 Ford Club Wagon that we have had since 1997 and we are still getting notifications on issues that we have to take it to the dealer to fix. I guess the longer something lasts, the more likely something would fail and these vans can go on forever if properly maintained. I think it is important to keep the manufacturer updated with an address as I saw several times where Dometic had refrigerator problems and they were running ads on websites and magazines trying to get everyone notified. Anymore, lack of quality control is a major issue with manufacturers of nearly everything. With the RVs, I think those that follow guidance from the RVIA do generally better than the others. I saw some serious issues crop up lately with new manufacturers of the small fiberglass trailers, electrical in nature.
