So, I think we sold the last boat we built, BrooksBoatworks . It was a 12 hr drive from eastern NC to Stuart Fl, none stop with 2 drivers, clean and prep the boat for a seatrial (perpective owners with a backgound check completed). They loved the boat, left a deposit, and we trailered the boat home.... 34ft boat- 11'6" wide at the shear- 13,000lbs. Trailer is 3 axle 18000lb with torsen (torsin,ein?) suspension.
It took 14 hrs to get home, we cheated when we got close and took alot of our "local" back roads because it was getting dark and the permits saw 1/2 hr after sun up to 1/2 before sundown.
So after about 26 hours of driving and riding in 60 hrs my butt is tired.
I can't wait till we move 200 miles and stay a week!

We know the feeling, we've been going in "spurts" and while we've managed to stay 2 weeks in a couple different locations, it's been after a 400-700 mile drive, now trying to get ready for 1200 miles over the next 2 weeks as we head to California with Donner Pass near the end of that trek.
After this? We have plans to move no more than 300 miles per month for about 3 months straight. I think we have one 30 mile move planned the entire month of November in AZ, life seems almost too simple!!

I've been doing way too much driving and I'm looking forward to some major 'just park it' time this winter!

Lemme tell you, as a former 18-wheeler operator and one that has had more than one 12-hour non-rest trip since then, you have no idea how pleased I am that I never had an urge for a boat.
I'm not sure I would appreciate that kind of traveling again.

Since we delivered most of the boats we built, by land or sea, 14hrs at a wheel is painfull no matter what the vehicle. I've been at the helm of a boat for 24hr+ and been dead tired for a week, Or 6hrs thru a South Dakota blizzard will exhaust you just as easily.
