Finished with Canada and Alaska and heading south on the west coast. Would like to stay west side of Yosemite (boon docking in Hodgdon Meadows). In order to get there I would have to drive CA 120 and it looks pretty tight. Has anyone taken a big rig over the road? Have done a lot of ups and downs and curves but like room to get over out of peoples way. Can not find a lot of choices for getting in there but like the idea of staying close to the park for exploring. Don't want to stay so far away that we miss the reason we are going

Part of 120 is currently closed due to wildfire. Although many of these roads are tight there is no problem negotiating them with any RV.

We did it last year when we were towing a 29 ft TT. A long climb up to Big Oak Flat with lots of switch backs, they do warn you to turn your AC off on the way up. We camped in the park at Crane Flats, there were a few sites you could get into with a larger rig but it's a tight fit in some of the sites, we had to go around our loop from the "wrong" direction to get our trailer in and sort of leveled. We did not take the rig all the way into the Yosemite Valley, instead we loaded the bikes onto the truck and drove in there for the day and enjoyed a nice bike ride through the Valley. It was also a very slow drive back down.

Thank you for the travel info. Watching the fire, planning on being there around 9/23. Hope they they get it under control. Spent last summer in WY smelling smoke on a daily basis.
