We have been involved with RVing for about 30 years to include tents and 8 moterhomes/trailers so, I have been around for awhile. I wanted to say that the people of this forum are the nicest people I have ever encountered. I am impressed that people here know how to be helpful without being judgmental in that someone can ask a question, say about full-timing or an RV-type, without being eaten alive for their choice. There are a lot of ways to experience RVing and full-timing and not everyone has the same needs and desires. I always appreciate being "steered" into thinking about those questions I should be asking myself but not told that I am "nuts" or that "it will never work" which is what I see so often on other forums. A for instance I see all the time is about budget and some underestimate or don't have a clue and here, they are directed to other posts and websites to help them see what others are doing and suggestions are made to maybe a trim a budget, etc. And with RVs, some people can full-time in a 17 foot Casita and other need a 40 foot plus but neither is wrong. So, thank you because I actually find it upsetting to see people attacked for their thoughts and choices and I can come here and just "chill"!

Cathy,
Thank you so very much for taking the time to submit this post. As owners of this Forum, I can't tell you how much we appreciate the sentiment and you have captured the essence of what we are trying to do here. Our members deserve all the credit. Again, thank you!

I must agree wholeheartedly. I recently "unjoined" another forum and will never go back, and I'm on the verge with another one. I'm sick and tired of the smart alecs with their judgmental wise cracks. While there are, indeed, some knowledgeable people, a lot of them don't know as much as they think. This forum is a breath of fresh air, and I find it a peaceful place to go, not stressful in any way. So, I say thanks also.

Jo and I have been members here since July of 2008 (dang, it doesn't seem that long), and I have stated many times that the participants at RV Dreams are "family." While every family has smart-alecks and "problem children," for the most part you have pegged the folks here quite well. Other than the occasional ribbing and kidding, we do tend to be family. I'm proud to be a small part of that family. (Then again, I seem to have the most forum posts, so maybe it's not so small.)
Anyway, thanks to both of you for your compliments and may we always be as you've described us. As for the rest of all of you out there......
.....GOOD JOB.

Mike never belonged in the corner!!! Love this forum, it has been so helpful and so appreciated as we've made a huge change in our lifestyle!!! We've been fortunate that we've never experienced the "other kind" of forum, guess we were we so blessed when we found this forum within 15 days of deciding to full time.

I agree. We have been hanging around here since 2009. I can't count the bits of helpful information I have gathered here and the times I've gotten a good chuckle. And we have had the good fortune of meeting a few of the other members. I'm not saying I don't look at other forums but coming here is like Norm walking into Cheers. Well,, maybe I'm not a Norm to the forum but you know what I mean LOL!!
And yes,,, thanks to Linda and Howard for the forum. It certainly was a big part of our deciding that we just might be able to pull off this life style. In fact I just compared our expenses to there's just a few weeks ago again for fun. Just to see if the notes I made way back when were anywhere close to reality today.
We are looking forward to the next time we can hook up with some Dreamers!!

Before my husband and I joined, I explored many Rv forums. This is one of the friendliest and more informative ones I found. We are planning on attending the Rally in NC in October. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Speaking of the rally, although we won't be attending, I went through the list of "stuff" that is done and covered and I was SO impressed. So many rallies have, well, so much unrelated happenings and this one just seems to be invaluable. I told my husband, no wonder they sell out. And, the price, I thought was SO reasonable. Maybe in the spring.
Am glad to see so many responses. I had just bailed out of another forum and thought since I told them what I thought of them, I should do that also with the one(s) I have positive thoughts about and I was so pleased to see that Howard had read and commented in the thread.
I hope to read through all the information here as time allows.

wanted to express my gratitude to all of you who participate here, as well as to Howard & Linda for conceiving the concept and setting the tone. This forum and the people on it were directly responsible for us finding the courage to realize our dream of fulltiming. The advice here as well as the experience and knowledge have been priceless. On an ongoing basis, the sense of community allows us to feel that we are always connected to a family of sorts. We are currently at a favorite place, Buckhorn Lake, where I know there have been dreamer seminars. Now that we are "retired" to the extent that we run our business from the road, I hope to be able to attend and meet as many of you as we can.

Cathy,
You are spot on about the Dreamers Forum - this is the only one I go to - and we are so looking forward to our first rally in April!
Best of luck on your journey - and here, it really is "live and let live" - in a house on wheels that is!

Want to say my two cents worth. Been on many sites is Australia for obvious reasons and RV Dreams is the only site I bother to read and post on. Great family, great converstaion, great friendship, great humour, great information, great everything. Recommend you to all of my friends. Wish we had more in common so I could post more often. Wish you were closer so I could come to the Rallys.
