A heads up to anyone that is contemplating traveling on I-70 west from Denver. There is construction for tunnel expansion that is about 3 miles east of Idaho Springs. The back up added about 40 minutes to my trip time. This was on a Saturday so not sure what it would be like on a week day. I saw some people getting off I-70 and getting on US40 which parallels. Since I wasn't familiar with the road I didn't give it a try. Other than that, I-70 west bound to Grand Junction had no other problems.
There was some fresh snow on the Rocky Mountains around the Ouray/Silverton/Telluride area. I went through Lizard Head Pass on US145 and I could see the snow to the east.
