We bought a 2012 Mesa Ridge brand new. The paint on the exterior wall started to bubble and delaminate only 5 weeks after we brought it home. It spent the entire winter getting repaired and was returned back to us in Spring 2012. After a few months the paint started to bubble and delaminate AGAIN in July 2012. So the following Fall it went back to the factory o have "new" fiberglass exterior walls put on. Well the company did such a terrible job that the whole area around the window and tail light is all bubbled out. I told the company in May that this trailer is a lemon and should be replaced / traded......I had been pressing the company for 4 months to come to some agreement with us before my 2 year is up. Well 5 days before we the 2 years is up they tell me they will replace the back panel but offer nothing else to us. No compensation for all the gas money bringing this unit back and forth over an hour to the dealer, no compensation that this is the 3rd time we will need to take out the entire contents of this trailer. This unit has caused us so much personal and financial inconvience. This will be our 1st and LAST Open Range Rv and I am telling every one I can to beware. My husband wanted to buy a Rockwood when we bought this unit .....boy do I wish I would have listened to him and not bought this Open Range rv. It has been one headache after another........

Wow! I am so sorry to hear of your problems, and quite surprised. Generally speaking, OR tends to have a good reputation when it comes to customer service. Have you posted about this on the OR forum?
The Rockwood wouldn't have necessarily been a better option. It's a less expensive RV, and the quality isn't necessarily better or worse. In fact, I read a story recently posted on the CrossRoads forum of a couple who purchased a Rockwood to full-time in, which it is not rated for, but anyhow, they opened the door after a trip to discover that their kitchen was totally trashed. Of the mass manufactured, major RV brands there seems to be a collective quality problem.

I am not posting to add to your pain but want you to know I have some dear friends that having been having trouble with their Open Range since purchased last year. They bought a beautiful 5th wheel toy hauler. Repairs have included toilet plumbing, shower plumbing(twice), refrigerator, slides that fell down, and after all this they found the frame cracked in several places. (I am sure there was more but these are the ones I remember) They also had a little discussion about living full time and warranty but they had bought a park model and could prove they spent little time in their 5th wheel as it was always in the shop. Last I heard all repairs have been made but I know they had quite a time. Documentation and pictures was a huge help. They did have to quit going through the rv sales place they bought it from and and went straight to the top of Open Range. Keep calling them and emailing them with pictures and progress. Also be sure and look over your rig from top to bottom. Good luck to you and stand your ground.

Below is obviously an advertisement but having recently purchased an auto where the dealer gave us a state Lemon law brochure. I wanted to see I'd your state has such a law and here's what I found after a very brief Google search regarding NY's law:
You have a significant investment there and it may be time to contact an attorney experienced in this law.

Wow welcome to the Forum and so sorry to hear about your troubles with OR....contacting an attorney sounds like a good idea...we hate to escalate an already bad situation but sometimes we are left with no choice. Please keep this thread an active part of your process, it will help you to keep a good record of events and will educate others about the OR product and after sale service...

Wow thank you all so much! I started this post as well as Many other on other sites to hopefully spare another person from buying an Open Range RV and quickly having their dreams crushed. We have contacted an attorney an waiting to hear back from her. Open Range knew that our statue of limitation concerning the lemon laws was drawing near and I feel that they dragged this out for 4 months just to screw us! They are aware of the significant wall repairs and replacement. But hopefully the lawyer will take the case and we contacted her before the 2 years was up. if nothing else maybe we can sue for damages such as loss of time, inconvience of cleaning and staring all items while it went back and forth from New York to Indiana, not to mention gas money..........on another note we had a used Starcraft Aruba (we were 3 rd owner) for over 3 years and all we ever had to do was put 2 new tires on it......we traded that in on the OR Mesa Ridge and hindsight we should have just kept that one as it NEVER caused us any grief and it was used.......Thanks again everyone!

However, with that last sentence, I would advise you to be careful of what you write on public forums, this one included, as those could be a source of information for others in a potential lawsuit. I remember a case that was local where someone created a forum thread with a description of their problems with another company. Over the course of that day, that person had posted a number of comments, many that were detrimental to the other party in their issue. By the time about 8 or 9 hours had gone by, that person had gone back into the thread and deleted every one of their comments. I suspect that they did so because of the advice of an attorney.
Good luck with having this issue resolved, and please come back to what is a very encouraging "family" of folks on this forum.
