I imagine that many of us use picnic tables very often, as they are usually part of the camp site. Personally, I find sitting on the bench is very bad for my posture and I tend to get a backache after just a little while.
Does anyone know if a contraption exists which will allow you to sit at a normal picnic table using a back support? Or will I need to carry my own outdoor table and chair?

Google tatami chairs, a Japanese chair with no legs. Some of them may work on a picnic table bench.

Try searching for things called "stadium seats." They are great for ballgames and such so I would think they would work on picnic benches as well. Here are a couple of options on Overstock.com
Stadium chair , they have a clip type front that goes under the bench to keep it stable and keep you from falling backwards....they also come with armrests....drink holders and a spot for the remote if you choose to bring one!!!

This is all great - thanks all! Now all I need is to sell my house and buy the RV so I have something to take to the campground where I can use my stadium seat!!!
