At least it's in Houston so a little closer than Phoenix...

That makes the Houston unit look good in terms of price

Someone in the chat room recently said to stay away from DeMontrond. It was noted their sales AND service leave a lot to be desired. Just sayin'! I'm in the Houston area, as well.

What I find strange is it appears to be a "new" 2007 unit. Thanks for the heads up about the dealer.

I would also be concerned about a "new" unit from several years ago. At what point should one start to worry about the unit sitting on the dealer's lot, exposed to the elements? And at that point, what kinds of things should one be looking out for besides rust on the roof?

its not a new unit......its an older unit it just hasnt left the lot!!!
check and reseal the roof.....Brakes and axles bearings......door & window seals......Refrigerator should be on and running before purchase
Last but not least......Read ALL OF YOUR SALES CONTRACT......the small print......hold it up to the light , look for invisible ink and if the salesman is smiling ask him why......tell him your serious and dont force you wipe it off his face......then and only then take out your pen and sign it.......smile at him say thank you and excuse him so he can go to the bathroom and clean up!!!

We've been living in our 09 Monaco McKenzie Medallion since Dec of 2007. Looks like this one is the same floorplan as ours which we bought new. Can't say it's been trouble free, but we've never found anything we've liked better. My wife loves the kitchen setup. They changed the bedroom for the 09 version and put in a flat screen TV with a great articulating wall mount in the same space as the old style TV in the 07 model. So, we've had no issues with the roof, the fridge or the slide outs. Our issues have been with Lippert who made the frames for the 09 and probably the 07's as well. A couple new wheel bearings and we're currently having the I beam frame reinforeced as 40K miles on the road has broken some of the welds for the axel mounts. Let me know if you want any additional info on problems. The 32K price for a "new" unit is less then half what we paid for a new one.

Thanks for the feedback on your unit Lance. I don't think there is anything such as a 100% problem free RV -- just like there isn't a 100% problem free house!
Sounds like you are overall happy with your Medallion and that's what's important. I'm trying to sort out the unit that I can be happy with functionally, aesthetically and financially and that's more of a challenge on a budget!

This one actually appears to have never been sold, which is interesting... Nice in terms of cleanliness, could have issues otherwise...
I have no idea how to approach price on it. Thoughts?
