We are looking at a work camping job with USACE at Lake Allatoona for the winter. We have never been to Georgia, would appreciate any info or words of wisdom on the area and USACE.
Thanks, Ann

Georgia is very beautiful and the people are mostly welcoming. You should be able to make fast friends with other campers and also with the people who live full-time at the Marinas there. Woodstock and Acworth are both cute little towns close to Allatoona if you need to get out for some entertainment. It doesn't get too cold-- lowest temps in the past few years have hit 20s at the coldest, but winter is pretty mild and generally stays in the 40s and 50s. If you need to refill your propane during the winter, I can put you in contact with a man in Canton who does pretty good and cheap fills, but probably if you're staying at a campsite they will have amenities set up for you. I hope you have a wonderful winter down here!

That sounds terrific, Ann! Do you want to be that cold in winter? One old site I use to get an idea of area weather is city-data..com. Enter your city and state and down lower on the page you get graphs for temps, moisture, humidity, wind, snow, etc. there are probably better sites out there but this one helps me.

Sherry,
Is this the website you are writing about?
City Data
If it is, I'll have to explore it some more. I went to look at the forecast for Oklahoma City and it gave me information for April, not June.
Terry
Yes it is I found complete information for Oklahoma City.
