It appears that we're going to have about a month between art shows from Mid - Sept to Mid-Oct. Both shows are in the San Fran Bay area, so we're not wanting to go too far away and then have to do a "mad dash" back. We'll both be working the weeks in between but will have 4 weekends to explore. We also want to get outside of the immediate Bay area and hopefully reduce the campground fees.
So we're looking at options, thinking it might be nice to actually stay somewhere for an entire month as we'll have been on a weekly move schedule from the end of June through early Sept due to art shows, getting to SD to establish our domicile and then eventually getting to CA. We're considering Napa or the river delta area near Sacramento or ???
Looking for your suggestions, I have to have connectivity to work during the week, neither of us are big fans of commercial campgrounds but I'm having trouble finding state parks or other public campgrounds that at least have electrical hookups that can accomodate a 38 foot 5th wheel. I've been scouring Allstays.com and RVParkReviews.com but nothing is jumping out at me so I thought I'd see if anyone had suggestions.

We stayed at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton this last April. It is clean, quiet and OK. Sites are side by each. We needed to stay in San Fran for three days without paying a fortune and this fit the bill. It also is not a long drive into downtown if needed and the surrounding area is really pretty. Also look at the website "Boondockers Welcome", there maybe someplace in that area. I think there was one up north in the wine country. Good luck Melissa

IMHO Skyline Wilderness Park ( 2201 Imola Ave, Napa CA. 707-252-o481 ) is the best place to stay in the greater Napa area.
Very quiet, hassle free, and for an artist, even inspiring.
Stayed here numerous times and will anytime I'm in the area. Good hiking, mountain biking, and convenient to town.
