The closing on our home is scheduled for next Friday, so today I started calling utilities to schedule disconnections. I was talking to 'Sue' at the gas company. She asked if I also needed to set up service at our new place, and I explained that we'd be moving into and living in our motorhome. Sue said I was the second person to tell her that. She said she was really happy for us and how it sounded like such an adventure. Then she said the other person told her all about the lifestyle and how excited he was about it, and he had even given her a website where she could find out all about it. I said I could give her one too, and said RV-Dreams. She said THAT'S THE SAME ONE!!
It's a small, small world!

Wow, that was probably me. I spoke to a lady at the gas company last month to change a condo that we just bought in Crystal Lake into our name. She was very nice and told me how much the gas bills were for the previous owners over the winter. I told her we were downsizing and that we planned to live and travel in a motorhome part of the year until we make the jump to full-time. She seemed very interested so I gave her the RV- Dreams website. Since we live in neighboring towns it seems quite likely the same person. I do mention RV-Dreams to many people (ask my wife :) including last week when I stopped at a garage sale and they had an rv in the driveway. Turns out they are considering going full-time but had some questions about the lifestyle, insurance, domicile, mail, etc. so I suggested they check out RV-Dreams to have their questions answered. Thanks to Howard, Linda, and all the helpful people on the forum that makes this such a great site to gain some knowledge and make friends at the same time.

These type stories are always so neat though. They become like a common thread that links all RVers. When we were staying long term in AL, the man two trailers down was born in the same hospital as I was in IN with only 2 years separating our births. He also took his prom date to a fancy restaurant in my hometown. At other locations, we ended up talking about campgrounds and get togethers and although we were not there at the same time, there was still a sense of "family" or long time friends getting together although we had only met. And the thread is "golden".

lol, SnowGypsy, your story reminds me of one of my own. Not an RV story, though. At my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner, the night before they were married, I learned that her father was born in the same hospital as me and delivered by the same doctor as me. None of us lived in that area, or even that state, any longer. We lived in two different states and our kids met at college in a city none of us lived in. So it isn't as if we all still lived in that community. My mom and his mom had an interesting conversation at the reception, lol.

I'm surprised I never came across this before. I thought I knew of all the RV forums out there.
