Please offer a prayer for Buckwheat our oldest ,4 legged son, who is having his left eye removed Sat morning in Des Moines, Bucky was diagnosed with Horners Syndrome in Canada last summer but in reality when we got home a Feline specialist in Florida told us he had glaucoma . It was already too late to save his eyesight but he has been on eye drops, six a day to keep the pressure down and he was responding well until we hit St Louis. There something happened that gave him an ulcer on his cornea and even though he has been on a bunch of drops ever since it is getting no better. We had him to a specialist in Cedar Rapids , Iowa yesterday and was told that removing the eye was about the only treatment to consider now as Bucky was in constant pain from the pressure and the ulcer was the kind that would not heal. So we rearranged our travel schedule to make it happen on Saturday in Des Moines. The doctor says he should be a new kitty as he has been suffering from pain that would be equal to a migraine in human terms now for probably 8 months. Please keep Bucky in your prayers....Alan

Bucky came through his operation like a trooper. He is having a real problem getting used to the Elizabethan collar that he has to wear for 10 days but hopefully he will learn how to adjust for it . We know he is feeling okay because he still likes the belly rubs which he has been getting a lot of as of late. His brother and sister do not know what to make of this strange alien thing that has invaded their domain but I'm sure this too will pass....Alan
