Looking at a 2000 36' Tradewinds by National RV DP. I know they are out of business. Does anybody have a response in general about this unit? It has a 300hp C6 Catipillar, ALLISON 5 SP transmission, freightliner chassis. It also has a slide out kitchen. (not refrigerator) We are going fulltime and several people tell us to go with a diesel. Any thoughts? Thanks...

Tradewinds were a very solid motorhome during that time. We had a 2002 National RV Dolphin and there were many happy Tradewinds owners at the rallies we attended. That sounds like the standard engine for most Freightliners of that year, it works fine but won't race up and down the mountains.
