Does anyone know about the steps that come out automatically. Is it possible that they need enough power to work. After camping in a cg the steps worked for awhile. Its been a couple of weeks since powering up.Now they quit on me again. The dealership installed them when I bought the rig.Must be a warrantee on them,or is this normal without a power up from an electrical outlet?

they should work off the coach's 12 volt system, is there 12 volt power to the rest of the coach or are the batteries drained?

Make sure the contacts are lined up and clean, also lubricate the arm pivot points and keep the hardware clean....

Ours are on the RV's batteries. As others have said, check the batteries and the electrical contacts.

also check the switch in the door area....the steps should automatically retract every time the door is closed or if it is switched the other way they should only retract when the motor is started...
also check the wire harness under there....you said you hit a few good bumps in your posts, the wires to the steps are exposed under there and if they are replacement steps its possible that someone used crimp connectors and one was loose and a wire disconnected

Hey Mike, checked all the wiring and everything seems connected.Today I sprayed some anti rust lubricant on anything that looked like it could cause it to stick. Before that I used the gen when the motor was running.Nothing.I have a good hunch the rv needs to be charged up with some power from an electrical outlet. Its been 2 weeks since the last time I did that at a cg and it worked for days afterward.Good thing Im tall enough to step down without steps, because I won't be going to a cg for that.
