RV Park suggestions near Shreveport, Louisiana?....or Dallas....

We may be relocating from north Georgia to an area just south of Shreveport, La. The area of new workplace is not somewhere we want to live. Definitely not. Nope. Crime rate is 386% above the national average.
But there are places within about 30 miles, one is near Toledo Bend Lake, and a couple are right outside of Shreveport.
One is called "Tranquility Bay" and it looks really nice. Sounds quite relaxing, doesn't it?
Just curious if anyone had personal experience in any of these places.
Thanks!

I guess your not really interested in the RV parks a the Casino's? Diamond Jacks has a real nice RV park. Full hook ups paved roads and pads. You can also boondock out at Harra's at the race track. The Horse Shoe has a parking lot on the left just as you pull onto the Casino road. Many RV's use this...no hook ups.

Mary,
I presume from your comment about "new workplace" that you will be in that area for an extended period of time. If that is true, you might also look into mobile home parks in the area that may be able to accomodate RV's. We are in a small one here in Oklahoma City, and I know of at least 3 others in our area that could accomodate the RV's. They also may be cheaper than being in an RV park.
Of course, if you would be needing the laundry facilities of an RV park the mobile home parks might not be of any help.

Terry, thanks for that tidbit. I did not know that some mobile home parks can accomodate an RV.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Speedhitch - thanks for the scoop but we will be there for............a while......so we need a more permanent gig.

There is an RV Park on the west side of Shreveport. Tall Pines is the name and it is really nice. I know they have long term parking there. We worked in Shreveport and stayed there for a week. Nice park nothing special. They did have a pool and laundry.

If your working in Mansfield you might look at Grande Bayou RV Resort in Coushatta Louisiana. It is about 10 miles closer than Shreveport

After a discussion/interview, now they could use his skills better at their Dallas, Texas plant.
*head bang*
So Im just gonna stop looking till we decide where we are headed. Right now it could be Dallas, and it could be about an hour north of Mobile, Alabama. He really is making this planning a little challenging for me.

Heh....
....looks like the wrong person doing the "head bang" here.
Well, when it comes to starting to look again, feel free to ask with the new area.

Scrappy - if it's Dallas, specify which area of Dallas or which burb, (big, sprawling metro area). I know a couple decent parks north of Dallas and at least one to avoid southwest of Dallas based on my Mom and Step Dad's experience when they were full timers in the area.
