I'm totally new at this. I'm learning fast. A lot of it is just
looking at how it works. Some other things are less obvious.
I haven't done anything with the water system yet, but I'm
finding some things not working. I got an '09 Jayco hyperlite
19' bumper tow. It was used once, and spent the rest of
the time sitting out in the desert.
The furnace doesn't turn on. The gas is on, as the stove
burners work. I did not find a separate gas valve to the
furnace, so I don't know what's wrong. It seems there
are no settings on it, except for the thermostat. It is
electric start. I did find that the thermostat has an
interrupt switch, and that is not on. It's a Hydro Flame.
The fridge isn't very cool. It seems to work on gas,
but often goes onto "check" when on electric. I am
guessing it's low on refrigerant. I expect that I need
to bring it for service.
As for service, where should I take it? With cars, the
dealership is the most expensive place to take it, so
are there shops that work on RV's separate from
dealers, or would it be best to go to a dealer anyway?
My Dad wants me to call a local (household) heating
and cooling guy. I'm in the woods right now, but will
be going to a city (most likely Albuquerque), before
turning to the open roads.

One more thing, do not call a home service guy, RV's are very different.

Thank you Genecop. I kinda thought that wasn't going to work.
Oddly, My fridge is colder today. I wonder if it wasn't just that it sitting kinda stagnated it, and it's been running long enough to work that out. It's nice that one problem solved itself.
