I have a problem im sure you full timers may have run into. I am at a permenant site with sewer, the problem I have is my drain is to close to the ground to get a nice down hill slope to the main septic line. I have a clear elbow (45) on my end pipe, for I like to see whats coming out, but I can only position it a couple ways... one is sorta angled down, the other angled way up. Is there a fitting that will allow me to turn that elbow slightly upwards so I canget a better downhill run to the septic????? I will try and post a pic....

go to the hardware store and buy a rubber Fernco coupling....put it between the waste hub and your 45.....about 5 bucks at homedepot in the plumbing area

Whatzleft, If the fernco fitting dosen't work you might try to get the 45 elbow mounted so the outlet is to the side and in a horizontal position---then with your flex hose continue horizontal for a short run then make an elbow and start your down hill run to the sewer inlet. You will need some props to keep your flex (elbow) turn in place and try to put a little slope in it. The other thing is you may have to leave the clear elbow out all together and make the flex hose work. Two PVC 45's with a short run between them might also work--since it's a permenent set up then you wouldn't have to support it as often, use PVC to run all the way to the sewer inlet.

Hey Lucky Mike.... How does that Fernco coupling go over the flange fittings? On the waste hub it has the tits for the 45 to connect to, and the hub has those big catches to slide into the tits. Will that coupling slide over all that and tighten down?

Yes they come in different sizes and have large hose clamps to tighten them

yeah thats the problem, I can't get the elbow mounted in the position I need. Those locking tabs won't let you go but a few certain ways, and I'm pretty close to the ground already. I found a swivel fitting that I think might work for me. I ordered it today. It's a clear 45 that swivels. I see what your saying, just dont have a lot of room to play with, with the way my under-pinning is and all.
