Southern Utah - Monument Valley - need a campground recommendatio

So if you read my latest posting on our blog, we will be heading west for an extended trip. We need a recommendation for a campground near Monument Valley. We also want to hit some other parks near by. Any nice campground, full hook ups if possible since we will have the Airstream with small tanks as it is a 1974 refurbished. Thanks for any recommendations!

Check out the Rv Dreams section of the day by day Blog that Howard and Linda keep. They keep a nice review area of Campgrounds that they have stayed. Also check out Campground Reviews. Net, it is filled with reviews..

Goulding's Lodge & Campground is the onlyh one around. Not a bad place but small spaces. We were there last Oct.

If you are able to boondock for a day or two I highly recommend camping at Gooseneck State Park. (Restrooms and picnic tables only) You overlook the meandering San Juan River 1000' feet below from your site. From there you can explore The Valley of the Gods and Muley Point overlook...all within a few short miles from one another. These are just outside of Mexican Hat not far from Monument Valley. If your unable to boondock I believe there is camping in the Bluff area.

Thanks all! We are definitely planning for a night or two at Goulding's as we knew that is the recommended and closest to MV. We have boondocked for 6 nights with the Vintage but that was with showers available. Our tanks are really small, so realistically w/o showers 2-3 at best. Have reviewed campground review sites, but know that I can get good insight from all the helpful people here at RV-Dreams.

There are some beautiful views at Gouldings but many of the sites are so unlevel that my hydraulic levelers couldn't level my motor home without lifting wheels off the ground. For the $46 or so price for one night I don't think I should have to crawl around in the red dirt to put blocks under the tires.
In addition the clerks are so surly and rude (at least the ones I dealt with the last few years were) that we don't go there anymore. That is after stopping there twice a year for 8 years as we headed south in the fall and north in the winter.
Years ago the sites were okay but the upkeep seems to have been neglected and erosion ignored.
We now stay at Cadillac Ranch in Bluff or Blue Mountain in Blanding.
