Shurflow 5.7 pump stopped working. Been too cold to work on it, had 4" snow today and 1.69" of rain yesterday.
I did a quick look at it appears there may be a fuse in the wiring to the pump. Is it normal to have a fuse at the pump? There is a fuse in the coach for the pump that I checked and it's ok. I have the original water pump that came with the coach but wanted to see if I could fix this one first as it provides great water pressure. The original pump was only 2 gpm and way undersized for a 40' coach.

My 5.7 had an inline fuse about 6" from the pump. Don't know if it was a Sureflo thing or done by my rv manufacturer. Went through 3 5.7s in 4 years. Now have a different pump. Talked to a bunch who said the 5.7s didn't last. The good thing was that both the replacements were free (warranty). Date of manufacture is on the pump and it has a 3 year replacement warranty.

Thanks, good to know. Mine appears to have a fuse inline as well. It's been a good pump and I am aware of it's history. I'll check the date but I think it's out of warranty. Expecting nice weather this week so I should be able to take a look at it. Worse case I'll put the old pump back.

If you got over 3 years out of it, you are lucky. As previous poster said, I had 4 in 2 years. Finally said no thank you to another. On a good note, after all the headaches, they refunded my money.

There is an inline fuse. You might want to check that, too. When I had trouble with the same pump had to replace the fuse a couple of times.
When the pump started leaking back into the fresh water tank, I contacted SurFlo and they replaced with an updated one. If your pump is no longer functioning, you might consider contacting them. SurFlo had a lot of trouble with that pump and will gladly replace if you contact them. Changing out the pump is relatively simple and only takes a few minutes.
Best of luck. Hope it warms up for you.

Due to all of the problems with the 5.7, Shurflo finally stopped production of this model. They now have a high flow 4.5 GPM Revolution Series pump that is supposed to be more reliable. After having our 3rd 5.7 in 3 years quit, I asked Shurflo to replace the last one with one of the new Revolution Series 4.5 GPM pumps and they did. Again no cost to us as old pump was still under warranty. The Revolution Series is not quite as strong of a flow but much better than the standard 2.6 GPM pumps and almost as quiet as the 5.7 so we are happy so far.

Checked the fuse and it was ok, darn the luck. Checked my records and the 5.7 was installed Dec'09. Out of warranty. I will be shopping for a new pump.

Even though the pump is out of warranty, it's worth the effort to give ShurFlo a call. Ask for tech support. As stated in the post above, ShurFlo discontinued the manufacture of that unit replacing with their current model.
I have the new model installed and really don't notice the difference in flow. (Marginal, at best.) Again, it really is worth it to give them a call. They may replace the unit for free, or at a reduced price. All I had to do was send ShurFlo the label from my old pump and they sent the new one.
