i really like the versatility of this class c, but can a couple live in it comfortably?

With that Host unit you can easily add a washer dryer in the garage, the bathroom is right behind the back garage wall.
Those two extra back seats can also be removed, the floor gets a leveling panel and you have more room for supplies. The horse trailer that you will pull can have a hitch mounted lift for a small motorcycle or golf cart.....maybe even a Smart car.

someday, hopefully by next year i'll be able to take my horses on the road with us, and this can tow a bumper pull with two horses.
the toy hauler space will fit their hay and shavings when we have them, and when we don't dh intends to bring a tiny car or motorbikes.
i don't see a place for a washer/dryer and that's a biggie for us. we can't use public facilities so would have to come up with a solution to that.
plus this rig is a few years old but brand new-----what problems does that conjure up for you experienced rv folks?
also dh worries about the truck failing for some reason and being truckless and consequently homeless--he thinks a fifth wheel maybe better for that reason.
and last, i want to go off road with not a lot of worries, mostly beaches i think. is this doable with this kind of set up?

that Specific unit I find alot of wasted space. having a quad cab on a class c eats up living space, then add the toy section and there isnt much left......nice for weekending but on a fulltime scale it would get old fast but this is just my opinion......the other problem I see is the person is pricing it against the MSRP so they are 30 percent higher than it was paid for new.......

Ok to post this ad no problem. That is an awesome unit, Host is a quality unit, if you need the versatility of a toy hauler its the way to go. The next size up in C is a truck conversion, (the best bang for the buck IMO.) check out Renegade, NRC, And Showhauler........we have a 45' Truck Conversion Garage unit and love it...

This is a very unique setup... very cool, thanks for sharing.
As to what a couple can live comfortably in.. well, that's entirely up to the couple. My sweetie and I have lived in RVs as small as a 16' teardrop comfortably. It's all a matter of what works for you. The space in this rig certainly looks well thought out and high quality from the pictures.
My personal biggest 'gotcha' with this rig would be the bedroom layout - as I'm not a fan of low ceilings over my bed. For us, the low ceiling would be limiting to bedroom activities :).
And I do agree, the quad cab setup is a lot of wasted space if you are not needing to transport 4 people regularly.
As far as your must have of a washer/dryer...would it be possible to integrate that into the back garage somehow? But I'm not sure how you intend to use a W/D setup .. as I would imagine the number of RV Parks & campgrounds with full hook-ups that would allow horses will be few and far between. (Or are you imaging the horses coming along being an occasional thing?)
The 4x4 setup would indeed give you more flexibility for some off-roading, but with towing a trailer with horses too? That's going to be adding a lot of length to the setup, which will be a limiting factor for the off-road locations that will be accessible to you. And honestly, there are a very limited number of places with accessible beach driving to vehicles, nevermind that allow overnight camping (with horses!). We tried camping on the beach in CA with our 4x4 tow vehicle and trailer setup, only took us getting stuck in the sand once to realize we needed a lot more experience 4x4ing to comfortably handle that again.

mike you're right, those back seats do eat up a ton of room. i pulled out the back seats in my old truck and used it for storage way back when. that's maybe ok, maybe not with this rig. i'd have to figure out how best to utilise that space is all.
my dh actually likes the garage for his tiny car and tools, cat box, etc. and would add the deck feature so when we're parked it becomes an outside living room--he loves that idea a lot.
in your experience does that space and the back seat space sort of 'make-up' for lack of storage elsewhere maybe?
as to the price we're not ready to buy and are still exploring and evaluating (with your help,lol) the million different configurations we find. i hope to spend a lot less than that if i can.

yes that bedroom space won't work for us easily--maybe while en route and while parked we can turn the garage space into a more proper boudoir... hmm, i used to camp in my horse trailer all the time and could make it pretty spiffy pretty quickly with practice. hay bales and shavings bales elevate and support a bed and night stands very well indeed, especially when draped with small table cloths. i draped mosquito netting from the ceiling and was very comfortable. the key is not to be bothered by the manure stains on the walls--tho those can be draped too come to think of it.
however i know dh will require a lot more urban sophistication i'm afraid. the man married a hill-billy,lol!
i'm not sure yet what kind of boondocking we'll do, i'm thinking of places to ride into the wilderness. as for the beaches i know i need to learn a whole lot more--don't want to be the person tearing up the dunes if ic an help it. though riding my horse on the beach for a week or three sounds pretty wonderful. and we won't bring them the first year anyway, we'll get a season or more under our belts first.
anyway thanks for your great feedback--i think this unit has a lot to offer. what do you think of it being so new with so little miles? any problems that could cause? and just in case the house sells next week, what would you pay for it?

Also, with such a long rig of a Class C and a horse trailer, getting around in some of the National Forest campgrounds could be a challenge as well, not to speak of where one would park the extra trailer and vehicle. Also, if the space available would allow a space for the horse trailer, how easy would that be to back into place with a large Class C?
Keep in mind that if staying in some place for 2 or 3 weeks, what arrangements for the horses would there be if you had to go for groceries and stuff like fuel and LP in the RV?
While I've not considered the options of the horses, when we took a week's vacation one year in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, we checked out about 30 "wilderness" campgrounds in the two states with the thought of a pickup and camper. Most of those would not have allowed for much length for the two vehicles, so a large camper would have been out of the question. Only one National Forest campground that we have used over the years is large enough to allow for horses and the associated trailers.
As for the living space, I would suggest that the two of you do some looking around and see if you can find a similar sized Class C (not toy hauler) to rent for an extended time of a couple of weeks to a month. That will give you an idea as to whether the two of you would feel that the available space is enough. Also, just for grins and giggles, check out campgrounds in your area and see what is available in that area for camping with horses, allowing for room for both an RV and a horse trailer.

thanks for that info, we intend to spend time in horse friendly places, of which there are surprisingly quite a few.
