We are in the process of purchasing our new rig and will be stationary for the next year. I have seen other RVs in the park that have jacks supporting their slides. Is it necessary to add that support?

We've been primarily "static" for almost two years now and have not seen a need for any additional support. However, as Gene commented, it will depend on the RV and its design.

Thanks Gene and Terry.
I didn't think it was necessary, but wondered after I saw a few set up that way.
Thanks for the response.

Some mfrgs even state do not use supports/jacks under slides.
