Ahhh Yes!!! Many of us would like to find a park like that, but to be truthfull, I don't think you'll find a park on the beach for that kind of money in Florida.
My advice would be to go to RV Park Reviews, http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ and see what you can find in the area. If you find a park you think you'd like, you may want to reserve a spot as parks on the beach fill up fast, with many of the same people coming back year after year.
Good luck,
Jim

if all goes well we'll be spending this coming winter in that area and are looking for our first rv park / snowbird experience.
our fantasy is quiet and clean on the beach for 500 per month all inclusive within an hour or two from clermont. we're not social butterflies by any means, both of us are a bit shy.
help?!

Suse,
I read on a thread once that "nice" parks in FL ask $1500-$3000 per month...and got it. However, I have been researching parks all across the southern US for a few months. Google 'Florida RV parks'. There is a site called Campflorida.com.(I just picked the one at the top of the list). I picked Clermont and the first park on the list was $360/month--winter rate, plus electric. Check it out.

Check out Sunset Isles RV in Cedar Key. We just spent 10 days there and loved it. A small, kind of tight campground but really quiet, friendly people. Not on the beach but Cedar Key is a great little town, no chain stores/restaurants. Only locally owned cafes, etc. About 1.5 miles walk from the campground to town. $500/month.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that you couldn't get a site for less that $500 per month in Florida.
There are many aviable, but suse1023 is looking for a park "on the beach" near Clermont for $500. I believe this would be very hard to find.

Well, one of the difficulties with finding something on the beach within 2 hrs of Clermont, is that Clermont is center state. The nearest coast, as the bee flies, is about 1.5 hours. So trying to stay within 2 hrs can really limit your options. Most of the area due west doesn't have beachfront camping options, but out on the east coast there are options ranging from St. Augustine, Daytona and Melbourne.
Yes, you can find beach accessible RV parks in Florida. However, you will not likely find them for under $500/month in the winter. But, you can find some close to a beach if you up your price range a bit. We just stayed at one in the Melbourne, FL area for $625/month - and it was a 1/2 mile walk to the Atlantic ocean. And we were just camped up in Cedar Key with folivier (and a bunch of others) and had a waterfront spot for $545/month (with taxes). It wasn't really a beach, but an intercoastal lagoon with amazing sunset views and about 1.5 miles to a proper sandy beach.
Go read reviews at rvparkreviews.com, as others have suggested, and find what works for you. You may have to compromise on price and location to find your ideal mix. Florida is a popular winter destination, and most parks down this way have peak season rates. And snowbirds tend to book up sites up to a year in advance. Beachfront locations tend to be more like 'resorts' with a higher price tag. And you can find RV Parks with really affordable monthly rates if you're not tied to being close to the beach.
