Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on a front living room 5er? Getting ready to order our future full timing home when I ran across this unit. We have picked out the Cardinal 3450RL but this one looks like it has a little more living space. Would appreciate your input as to pros and cons since we will be new to this lifestyle. Thanks!

We're shopping for a full time 5th wheel as well. I tend to really like the living rooms on front living room models, but for me the kitchen and bedroom areas suffer. Haven't found one that feels adequate in those areas.

We looked at several of the front living room models during our search. What we found was that either a bedroom and bathroom were unaccessible with the slides in, or you had a second door that provided access to the bedroom and bath, but the kitchen space was closed off. I have not seen the Cardinal though. What we did see were the Montana's and Open Range.

We looked at the Montana 3750 and 3850 and found that as others have noted the kitchen area suffers and also you lose a lot of basement storage. as FT'ers we need all the storage we can muster. The unit is sweet and you can make it work as a FT'er but like anything else there is compromise. It cerainly is great for entertaining!

You lose the slide area for the dinner table making the kitchen smaller and cramped, also after setting in the front living room area for a while it seems to start closing in with the low ceiling.

I tend to agree. I think I would like the highest headroom in the area where I will be spending the most time (I'm 6"3'). The only time I'm in the bedroom, I'll be horizontal and the headroom won't be a big deal. I also want the big picture window by the swivel rockers for morning coffee drinking time.

I looked at a couple of models with the living room in front. From just a style perspective, they were very nice looking. But the layout just never seemed as functional as having the living room in the back end. The ceiling really seemed low & cramped. I definitely prefer the bedroom in the front & living area in back.
