Jean,
First of all, welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You will find this a good source for information because there are a lot of foks here with knowledge of all kinds of RV's.
With regards to towing the Miata, I don't really have any experience with towing behind our RV. However, Motorhome magazine has what they call a Dinghy Guide. You can go to this site and download information on what vehicles are able to be towed "4-down," meaning all four wheels on the ground when towed. I would imagine that if the Miata is not on the list, you would likely have to use a separate trailer or a tow dolly.
A friend needed to use a tow dolly to tow his Miata.

I towed a 99 Miata 5-speed a couple years ago. Towed great, put in neutral, key in ignition to unlock steering wheel and go. Very lightweight so may not need braking system. I used a baseplate from here: http://rennenmetal.com/proddetail.asp?prod=1477 Just be aware of the low clearance. Miata makes a really fun toad, drop the top and hit the twisties!
ps, if you need a towbar I have a nice Demco Aluminator for sale. PM me for info.

Charlie and I discussed this in the beginning, before we bought our 5th wheel and did not have use for a tow car. Our little Miata spends a lot of time the garage because getting in and out of it isn't as easy as it was 20 years ago. :) Can't seem to part with it though and if we ever decide to change to a motor home, we will already have our toad...all we have to do is lose about 20 lbs...apeice. "all we have to do is lose about 20 lbs...apeice." I wish it was that little! One of these days we're going to do some serious toad shopping, and somewhere along the way we're going to find a 'Vette and get a picture of Jo Ann standing by it like she is about to get in. That picture will be sent to our son who just got past the point in life where he can use a 2-seat vehicle.
