It is very embarrassing to admit but I almost got scammed in my effort to find a potential virtual position that I could do while traveling. Long story short....in the past I posted my résumé to a online job site. A scammer (though until today I didn't realize he was, though I was aware that it was likely), contacted me about a personal assistant job. When I questioned him about his background and pertinent details of pay (such as federal id#, etc) he refused to supply any information. Also, He wouldn't name who he worked for or any personal information. He wanted to send me a check in a large amount of money and then have me but it in my personal account and then pay someone for his art supplies. Sounds fishy right? I thought so too! After do some investigating, it seems that this method is quite frequent in scamming retires, work at home wannabes, etc. so I posted his information on a website for reporting scams. Glad I didn't give him my account information or SS#. But it is too close for me to ever reconsider a virtual position again. Guess I'll be glad we are going to Workkamp. I know they are legit! Their fall rally was great, I highly recommend it. They gave me the background to ask the questions I did, which hopefully has saved me. I also alerted my bank in case someone would contact them. Why am I telling you all this? Because I don't want anyone to be scammed like I was or almost!
Well, hopefully this story will make others aware of this type of scam. I wasn't aware, but being suspicious has hopefully saved me.
Happy New Year! We wish safe travels for all.

I have found online that you almost cant submit any personal info to anyone that is not public knowledge.......it has gotten so bad with scammers even Craigslist I will not reply to an ad that doesnt have a phone number or Business name I cannot cross reference first!!!
Workamping is a good start and you will meet others and find your money making niche as you go along , Please be safe and may your New year journey be all you wanted and profitable too!!!!!
