I just had a photo restored by an online company and they did a fantastic job.
The photo was of my wife when she was 2 years old. It hung in her mom's house all of the years whiles she was growing up. We got it when her mom past away and it hung in our hallway until I put it in a plastic container outside under a tarp while we did some remodeling. The container filled up with rain water and the framed photo sat in water for about a month.
I was shocked to discover the container got water in it and then even more shocked when I discovered the photo had gotten wet. Like a dummy, I tried to remove the photo from the frame to dry it. Unfortunately parts of the photo stuck to the glass and pulled away from the photo. It was ruined. She was not happy with me.....this is one of those things that wives never forget. "Remember when you left my picture outside and it got ruined, I told you not to put it out there" .... Yes Dear, I'm sorry for the thousandth time.
The photo not only had they typical water spots and wrinkles but it also had large areas of missing image. I let it dry for several days and then scanned it to make a digital copy. It was an 11X 14 print so I had to scan the top half and then the bottom half.
I sent the two digital copies to PhoJoe.com via a form on their website. Within a week they sent me back a perfect restoration of the photo. It looks just as good as it did before I put it outside (sorry dear).
Here's the best part, the charge was under $50.

Thank you so much. I have a small packet of my favorite family photos that somehow got damp and all stuck together. I've been to many, many photo shops asking if they could restore or tell me where to go. No luck. Again, I thank you!
