Greetings all its been sometime since I was last here, major personal changes have taken place. My loving Wife Niki passed away in Febuary from stage 4 malignant ovarian caner, so I have been dealing with alot here. Getting ready to sell our BIG house and move into a smaller house I have paid off along time ago, so I can start setting money aside for when I go full timing . My Father is still with me at 93 so I wont make the move till after he has gone to be with Momma. As soon as I can finish of paying whats left of niki medical bills and pay off a credit card or 2 it puts me closer to hitting the road. I have been looking at the 2013 Winnebago diesl RVs for myself. So its just gonna be me on the road looks like , are there alot o single folks out there RVing now or is it mostly families??

Use a google search for TravelingSolos, and other searches for solo travel, loners on wheels and others of that ilk. I think you will be furnished with reading material for the rest of the winter. Also Escapees.com has a section for lone travelers. Like Mike said, welcome and be prepared to learn.

Sorry for your loss. We see a surpising number, of singles on the road. One lady travels full time, alone, for six months a year leaving her non camping husband at home!!!

Walter,
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You will find that there are a lot of folks here that have a lot of knowledge and experience with all kinds of RV's, so even if your choice of RV should happen to change, you will likely find a lot of good answers.
I also wish to offer condolences regarding the passing of your wife, but I'll also add kudos for sticking around for your dad.
While there isn't a lot of activity on it, RV Dreams' forums has a category regarding solo RV'ers. Even if no one is still active there, there is still a lot of information there that can be of help.
Glad to have you as part of the family, so feel free to ask questions of your new "brothers and sisters."

Walter, my heart aches for you. I am so sorry for your loss. My husband lost his late wife to ovarian cancer and its a sneaky killer. He was a full time caretaker to a very brave & wonderful lady.
You're wonderful to be with your Dad. I moved to this area (AZ) in '98 because my dad was widowed and alone at 92 but he has since remarried and is still with us at 97, and new wife no longer welcomes us into their home.....not sure about your Dad's condition but will you want to defer your dreams for 5 or more years?
Wishing you the very best and creative vibes so YOUR dreams can come true. We're all here together, single, widowed, married, gay. Hoping to meet you in a wonderful campground someday soon.
