I want to check on what the warranties are. I bought a new Georgetown and was very surprised that the warranty on the "house" was only one year. Is this right? Appears the transmissiom, appliances, etc all have different warranties, but the "house" only has one year.
Did you get extended warranties, are they worth it?
Many thanks!

Welcome, Debbie.
Glad to have you as part of the RV Dreams forum family. As for warranties, a number of us believe in them because some of those warrantied items (think refrigerator, for instance) can be pretty expensive. We had issues with the RV refrigerator in our fifth wheel when it didn't want to cool correctly. We have a warranty on our fifth wheel and it would have paid for either repair or replacement of the refrigerator. (Replacement of cooling unit would have been around $1000 and replacement of the whole thing would have been about $3000....if I remember right.)
We actually decided that we would rather have a residential refrigerator so we bought that instead of doing anything with the RV refrigerator. In our case, the RV refrigerator was only about 2 years old and we didn't want to have to go through the whole repair/replace issue again in two years.
Howard and Linda also have ties via the website here with a company that provides extended warranties. Do your research on the forum and check out the "Site Map" button on the home page of the website to see if you can find their link to that program. From what I've heard from some others is that they are supposed to be cheaper, but be sure and do your homework on prices and coverage.
