OK I have not read about this on any of posts so here it goes. A little advice since we travel with dogs. We chain them to the 5er to let them out.  They tend to pee in the same areas as dogs tend to do, so the smell would get noticeable. Looked on line and found that if you take white vinagar to the spots were they pee the smell goes away. It works. Thought this might be helpful to others who stay for awhile in the same spot. Also might be helpful to workcampers and park owners that have to smell these in spots in parks and want to get rid of it cheaply. Lets hear of other methods that work so as to help others.  The above also happens when you have a park in an area with a few strays or wildlife marks its territory.

  ADDITION to post you can us pelletized gypsum to grassy areas and not have the  yellow spot effect and not hurt your pet. Just apply it and then wet the lawn or wait for rain and it will do its thing. If you have some existing yellow spots it will help the lawn grow back faster. I can atest to it working we used at a park in TX and we were given a spot that had pets before and had a couple of yellow spots we used the above and did not have any others (yellow spots) show up while we were there and when we went back the next year the spot were we had been was nice and green. You would have never known that there had been a pet there.
