Are there any members that travel with guide dogs.
this will be my first time out Traveling with my life partner...........I have already encountered problems with businesses attempting to prohibit the dogs entry until I give them viewing of the dogs ID and a copy of ADA laws.
have you ever encountered parks, refusing or charging for the dogs entry.
do you have any tips as to make this Transition and new learning curve easier......

No problem with our mutt so far.. If anyone gives you any issue, put on a pair of sunglasses and say its you guide dog.

Not so sure about the sun glass thing though........I have enough problems already, hoping the Eyes are the second to the last to go....(dont want to see it coming!)
just gets tiring when someones says you dont look Handicapped, why do you need a dog......My response always is....." Im not...I am a survivor with a few issues...and the dog is my trainer!!!!!"

There is an organization where you can get a vest for her to wear if she is a service dog. I' ll see if I can find it. My Aussie wore the vest when I flew home with her (breeder had her registered as service dog and used her as such); she walked through 3 airports with me and no one topped us since she had the vest.

Hope this helps! My breeder says she has her dog wear the vest and been able to go to the doctor's, nursing home, airports, businesses and other places.

Personally I would love to be a fly on the wall when you pull up, (just out of sight of the office), don your dark glasses and the two of you walk through the office door!

Of course you know the dog will intentionally hip check me into the door frame to make herself look good!!!!
