I'm headed to the NE area for a couple weeks starting mid-November. I need help on two things. One is for those of you who live up there, please do your anti-snow dance. Second, is some suggestions on what to see while I'm there. We have no iteniary excepting that we'll start being tourists from New York north. We'll pick CGs based on where we go. We may even venture into Montreal or Newfoundland, but time will dictate that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Please Check Before you fly......Almost all New england campgrounds close around Oct. 15. They are few and far inbetween this time of year. Starting in the begining of November the weather can change in a moments notice from nice to severe depending on where you are at......
It is beautiful country up here but when the weather approaches during the winter months, we get frequent black Ice conditions, white outs in certain areas and snow by the foot plus in the white mountains NH....green Mountains VT and upstate ny.........if this is an area you have not traveled before be cautious and plan accordingly. watching local weather reports like a hawk.
I dont say this to hinder you.......I have been playing up here for years and on more than one instance ended up in winter boondocking mode for several days while I waited out weather or got Iced in or snowed in..............of course it could be a dry start but please prepare for the worse!!!!!!!

I agree, early fall is great, but from now onward, I wouldn't be heading that direction unless I'm planning for winter camping. You won't find very many campgrounds open.

I am originally from Plattsburgh Lake Champlain Valley; Adirondack Mtns. about 60 miles south of Montreal. Take heed of what the others said. I wouldn't go there this time of the year unless it was an absolute emergency. Snow is pretty, but not from an overturned RV. Pieere

Trying to figure out why anyone would go to that part of the country in an RV at this time of year? Unless its to spend holiday with family or to just reverse the direction that everyone else does at this time of year? Wishing you safe & warm travels!

I lived in New England ( MA - NH - ME ) for 55 years and found that August 24-28 is most likely to be the best weather you'll EVER get!! We always planned our annual cookout on one of those dates! :>)

OK folks. Let's start over.
I truly appreciate the heads-up reasons why I shouldn't be going to NE in November. It's sort of like my letting someone know that Texas in July is not the right choice.
Be that as it may, I am going. So if all you good folks who live up there can give me some hints and suggestions on the "tourist" stuff I would really appreciate it.

Mike> I'll be on the road for a week. As of now, I've got northern section of PA and the Catskill area in NY at the top of my list. Maybe jump over to CT for a day. I don't want to try to cram 10 pounds into a 5 pound bag and I've explored the other states not mentioned.
Good restuarants...It don't get any better than that. Especially if they serve the world's best lobster bisque and/or clam chowder.
