I am not a new member of this forum but not sure if I ever introduced myself since we didn't have an RV. My wife and I just bought a 2013 Forest River Surveyor Select 32' in Sept. This is a tow behind and we also bought a 2012 Toyota Tundra 5.7 L V8 to pull it with. It has the full tow package. We have had the trailer out once and have a trip planned to VA on Oct 29 - Nov 5. We like it very much and I look forward to taking many trips in it. We live in Nashville, TN and have lot's of great places to visit in the SE but we do plan a west coast trip next year to visit a daughter in Seattle. We hope to visit Yellowstone, Glacier, Oregon coast, Crater Lake and many other sites. May be gone for at least a month. Any advice on this trip would be helpful. We have joined Passport America and Good Sam at this point. We have met Howard and Linda once, when they were camping in Carthage, TN a year or two ago. I have followed them since they started the web site.
Look forward to hearing from others.

Ron and Linda,
Welcome to the forums. You had posted about 4 times before, once for the rally and once about motorhomes on a Sprinter chassis. (Or something like that.) It looks like you are still planning on being a part-time RV'er. With that in mind, I think the Forest River will serve you well. We've had one of their products in the past (a Salem TT) and had no problems with it. However, we only had it for two years before trading it for a fifth wheel.
Good luck with your camping and travels.
Terry

Congratulations on the new TT. My comments on the trip, a month doesn't sound like enough time to enjoy the places you want to visit. Depending on your travel route you may not be able to put on the miles like you do when just driving a car. I would try plotting your intended route on google maps or similar and try to come up with a timeline.

Thanks NorCal Dan, that is exactly what I plan to do. A month was just an estimate and I realize it may take more time. It also depends on how much time we spend in Seattle with our daughter.
Thanks again, Ron

We spent a week at Yellowstone this past August. I would highly recommend the Grizzly RV Resort in West Yellowstone (http://www.grizzlyrv.com/). It is a beautiful park located just a couple blocks from the town of West Yellowstone and just 4 blocks from the west entrance to Yellowstone park. The staff were exceptional and the facility is extremely well kept.

Thanks a lot for the campground recommendation in W Yellowstone. That is the kind of information I am looking for. Does this location offer any discounts, senior, Passport America, Good Sam, etc?

They do offer discounts. Here is a line directly from their site:
"We offer a 10% discount for Good Sam, AAA, AARP, FMCA or Military members"
