We have a 2013 Landmark Key Largo with the Mega Bath. It has a triple fold glass shower door that overlaps each pane. Does anyone have experience with this type of shower door? Cleaning the exposed glass is not a problem, has anyone figured out how to clean between the overlapping panes without disassembling the entire door?

They should have made all three glasses lift up and turn independently so you could clean them. I don't understand when the engineer designed that, he must not have thought of cleaning it. I'm sure were not the only ones who have pondered this. By the way nice rig and truck. I was looking at the 3670 but I got such a good deal on the Key Largo it was only within a few thousand of the 3670 with leveling system and other options. Have you had any major problems with your truck? I just bought mine in april I had a 2008 2500 4x4 Mega Cab, but I was afraid I would be overloaded so I opted for the 3500 DRW.

I don't have an answer, but I'd like to hear one, too. We have a Big Horn with the same bath, and I'd like to know how to get to that in between space. Right now it isn't too bad, just some water spots, but I'd really like to get them off.

I agree about the glass. I love the shower. To me it just feels roomier than the corner showers. But I'm a little afraid that it could become a problem if I can't find a way to clean the overlap areas.
We fell in love with the floor plan in the 3670 and so far are delighted with it. Of course we've only spent 4 nights in it so far! But we will be moving into it and becoming static full-timers on the 24th! Can't wait!
We got our truck in December, but didn't use it much until we picked up the Big Horn in July. It did great coming over the mountains from TN to NC. We've had no problems at all with it and are real pleased with it.

I contacted SEA customer service, the company who made the tri-slide shower door. According to them, they recommend to NOT remove the glass unless it is broken and you are replacing it. They told me to clean the shower and glass they recommend "Scrubbing Bubbles" cleaner. They said to spray it on the glass in between each pane and allow it to clean for you. They also said to use a "Swifter Duster" type wand, that is angled with a paper towel or rag and wipe the glass afterwards.
I can see this is going to be a lot of maintenance to keep this clean. I'm looking for a replacement door glass that you can clean a lot easier...

In between the panes??? Ours has a plastic covering over each of the pieces. I'm afraid if I'm constantly pulling that off that I'd break it! LOVE my large shower, but now I'm thinking this might be more of a pain. I wish I would've thought of this before our purchase!

How much space between the doors? Maybe a paint stick and paper towel after the scrubbing bubbles? Something thinner?
Just throwing ideas out there.

We don't have the tri-fold door, but keep our shower and glass door clean by using a "daily" spray shower clean product, each time we use the shower. Works nicely. There are several brands out there.

There is less than 1/2" between the panes. There is a plastic w/Rubber swipe on each end of the glass pane that is removable. We assume this was to wipe the glass as each pane moves past the other, however it is not very effective. Overtime, soap scum, water spots, and ? will accumulate between the panes which will be a challange to keep clean. As we said in a previous post, were looking for a replacement door glass that will work with this bath. We like the size of the bath, we just don't want to spend hours trying to clean something that should only take minutes.
Happy Trails,

We agree, the problem is with the shower door. the sliding glass door panes overlap each other by 6-8" and there is less than 1/2" between the panes. Although you can spray between the panes, this will not prevent water spotting, soap scum from building up between the panes and the bottom rail.

I'm trying to visualize what this door looks like...maybe someone could post a picture. Why aren't the panels accessible when the doors are closed?

That's it, Terry. And the overlap is more than it appears in the picture. There really is no way to get between the glass panes very well. I'm still planning to rig some "tool" to reach in between there, but it will have to be very thin, and I'm not at all optimistic about it being very effective. I didn't even realize until I tried to clean it that it was going to be a problem. Oh, I'll probably work something out eventually, but it may take quite a bit of trial and error.

Robert and Maria,
Actually, it was Dan asking about what they looked like.
Pardon a possible dumb solution, but since I don't know the exact distance between the panes, could one wrap cloth on a B-B-Q spatula and fit it in that area? Or, a cake cutter or long putty knife?
One might have to fashion a cloth "sock" that would fit over whatever flat tool one used.
(Heh. Look at me making suggestions.....I don't even cook or clean much.)

Thanks for the pixs. From the title of the thread I was thinking the doors folded but I see they slide kinda like a pocket door. Some engineer apparently didn't think about cleaning. I wonder if one of those sprayers sold to clean the shower would be able to "reach" in the overlap area. But I think someone mentioned they have a squeegee between the panes so probably not. I think I would try a swifter hand duster with a cloth attached soaked with some cleaning solution. Nice size shower.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I probably won't do much about checking it out for a couple of weeks as we are busy getting ready to move into the Big Horn, but once we are in there, I'll have to see what I can do.

We have these doors too and I'm not happy with them. I use purple microfiber cleaning cloths from www.flylady.com. They work great by themselves. Usually a cloth covered finger does the trick in between the door panel overlap.
My issue is the water in the track that never complete dries and leaves that pink residue. Too much maintenance for working people. I was just asking John what he thought about taking the shower doors off and putting a decorative curtain up. Has anyone tried this?

We use a plastic/rubber squeegee from Walmart that is designed to clean home windows. It fits in between the overlap nicely. You just need to remember to use it after ever shower before the water dries.
Nice clean glass ever time....
As far as the water remaining in the track. Take a small round file (rat tale file) and file down the exiting hole so all the water runs back into the shower. It doesn't take much work on the aluminum so be careful.

How are you cleaning the shower track? That's my biggest issue! Been using q-tips!
I use a dishwashing wand with a fill able hand filled with half vinegar and half Dawn dish soap to clean stall and glass doors.

I also have that fabulous door in my 2014 Evergreen Bayhill 340RK, so thanks for the wonderful cleaning tips. Once I have the shower doors clean, I use Rain-X on the glass. That helps to keep it clean longer.

Here is a product I sell. I hope it is okay to post it.
It is brilliant for something like you are describing. The video is European, but I sell it here in America. The cost is $69, then there are also different sleeves you can get for other purposes such as an orange sleve for dusting window blinds. It is also amazing for cleaning window tracks, to get into wheels to clean the brake dust etc.
If you would like more info please feel free to email me at
kim.perseghetti@enjous.com
please let me know Terry if it is not okay to promote my own product here. Sorry if it crosses any line, but it is hard not to share a solution to a problem for fellow rver's.

Kim,
I will allow the video to stay, simply because it is an answer to a solution. Otherwise, you might go down and create a thread in the Classifieds section. There you can list all you want with regards to what you sell. If you have your own blog/website for your business side, you can also create a signature for all your posts in which you can post a link to that blog/website.
If you would, create the thread in the Classified section, and then I'll delete the video from this thread but leave your comments. I'll also provide a link in your post here that will take interested viewers to your thread in the Classified section.
