We just went to the "go through" of our new 5th wheel. The salesman wanted to sell us slide out slickers. They look like plastic skis that you put on the carpeting under the slide to reduce the wear and tear. They're $80 for a set. Does anyone use these?

16 years and the carpeting where the rollers on the bottom of the slideout ride up on the carpet looks as good as the rest of the carpet.
I have seen RVs where you can see impressions left on the carpeting by the rollers.
Haven't used them, no sure would be worth the $80.

Depends on your slides. They work really well if your slides leave deep and dirty marks on the carpet. We used them on our Elite Suite for a while (I think we paid $59/set) and it was the best Lippert product we have seen. Didn't get them for our current trailer as the slides don't leave marks on the carpet like our old one did.

We have three sets and use them each time we bring in the slides. Checking on line they are between $35 and $40 per pair. A previous 5th wheel left roller marks so we purchased them for this rig and we do not have roller marks.

RVUgrades.com has them for just under $40 per pair. I'm going to consider getting them. I have one slide that's starting to leave tracks, these might prevent them from getting any worse. Jill & Jay I'm glad you brought this topic up.

we were getting marks on our kitchen floor so the manufacturer just gave us two pieces of thin paneling tapered on one end for the rollers to roll on. works great.
