I am looking for a campground in the Clearwater/Dunedin area that has cable included. My hubby and I stayed at Dunedin RV Resort last summer for 7 weeks and loved it. We had to pay for cable and have the cable company come and hook it up. This seems to be the case with all the campgrounds in that area. I'm not used to that. Up north here they all include cable. We are only going to be there about 2 weeks this summer and didn't want to go through the hassle of a cable company. Any suggestions?

Nothing in particular but we are t.v. people. My husband watches Nascar and car stuff and he wouldn't like to do without. I know it sounds crazy that we want cable while on vacay but that's us.

Just curious, whats on Cable you can't do without for two weeks?
As far as RV parks that offer anything for free is just marketing to get our business.

I don't know about cable hookups, but you owe it to yourself to check out Ft. DeSoto state park if you can get in. Beaches there are incredible!

Why not just buy a satelitte (spg?) dish an forget about cable. I've camped at a few good CG in Tamp/clearwater and my senior brain isn't working to well tonight can can't remember much. Though my favorite CG is in St Pete and right on the Gulf. But you need to reserve fast because spaces are taken quickly. The name of the park is Desoto Municipal Park. THere are many sites right on the gulf though the swimming is that great there. But the beachs are awwesome and there is an old fort there you can walk through.

We stayed @ Dunedin/Blue Moon for two weeks last summer. Will be back again this summer. Direct TV works well there,we have a auto dish on our rig. While we were there I had neighbors who had the Dish Pay-As-You -Go plan, which can be turned on & off, based on your travel needs. The guy said that the portable Sat dish (in a small case), was easy to aim. Don't know. Since our daughter lives up the road in Palm Harbor, that location is best for us. We've looked at lots of others in area, but Dunedin seems by far the best.

We stayed there last summer for 7 weeks and LOVED it. We knew we would be there that long so we got cable hooked up. This summer we will probably only be there for 2 weeks so I don't think we'll bother with cable this time. I'll have to look into the portable satelite. I don't know anything about it. Thanks to all who responded.
