If you have workamped in the Orlando/Lissimee area this message is for you.
Where did you workamp?
How was the experience?
Would you go back and do it again?
I am open to comments and suggestions anyone may have for us regarding workamping in this area. Our kids are wanting to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas at Disney. We just want to be near by where they are.
Thanks

Jerry & Carol -hope you find something that works out for you. What a great experience to spend time with the family over the holidays. My DW and I will be just south of there starting in December WCing for the first time ever in Avon Park. Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but best wishes to you both.

Some like to work at Disney; MGM Studios; and you could also go to RV Park reviews and do some cold calling. Pieere

Do you already have leads on a workamping position in the area?
There aren't that many campgrounds in the area, and they tend to be booked up for the winter well in advance. And I would imagine the few workamping positions available are highly coveted by returning seasonal folks.
As far as the area itself... not amongst my favorites. We've been bouncing around the area since November due to my father's health, and the traffic here is just miserable. But hey, if its where you want to be.. cool. The weather over the winter is pretty awesome, and there are some cool things here. Just my blood pressure goes up every time I need to run errands dealing with the traffic.

Hi There...We have done some workamping in that area. We workamped at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, FL. This park is only about 8 yrs old and has very nice facilities. We were camp hosts. We worked in exchange for a FHU site. There are several state parks in the Central Florida area. Lake Louisa isn't too far from Disney World, stores, Celebration Hospital. There is info on the Florida State Park website. Click on volunteer, then scroll down to campground hosts.
