We're looking at 5th wheels and are thinking of just putting our 2yr old on the couch in the living room. We looked at bunkhouses, but they take up so much of the most used living space. We're feeling slightly guilty about not giving her her own space. Where do your kids sleep?

I would get tired of having to make up a bed every night in your living space and then putting it back up every morning. Also 2 y/o tend to go to bed early and that limits your using the living area for other things without disturbing the sleeping child.
Have you checked into toy haulers, many have a loft bed above the living area or beds in the garage area. A larger class C motorhome with a bed in the back and the one over the cab might be an alternative as well.
This of course is just my opinion, good luck on your journey.

Ours slept on the couch for a couple of years. Then we were stable for a few years. Besides, if you will watch them, a 2 year old owns all the space of whatever size house they are in.

If you don't mind looking for used Travel Supreme made a two bedroom fifth wheel. Some have also modified toy haulers to have a rear bedroom.

We're hoping to be on the road only until she's about 5 or 6. We're on a quest to find the "perfect" state. We looked at some of the toy haulers, but the backs of them seem like we'd be putting her in a "garage". We also looked at a fifth wheel that had a bunk-loft, but the thought of her sleeping up high wasn't very appealing.

When our boys were that small we had a 31ft. Class C motorhome, which was great. They slept in the bunk over the cab, and could just close the curtains and go to sleep, even if we were in there watching TV. Rather than sleeping lengthwise in the bed, they slept perpendicular -- with their heads at the edge of the bunk, and their feet towards the front-most part of the cab. That way, there were no worries about one of them falling out of the bunk. It wasn't until they were about 10 and 12 that they outgrew the bunk.

We are by no means full timers yet but we go out for long weekends once or twice a month and we have a 18 month old. He sleeps in his play pen that I build up with a thick blanket under the mattress. Unfortunately he is in the "dining" area next to the table. But we put another blanket covering one end of the play pen and usually step outside, in ten minutes he is sound asleep and we can come back in and watch tv or go to our room and he never knows a thing. I want to get another camper with a spare bedroom. But for now this works. When he's ready, I plan to put him on a mattress on the floor in the same place. At least until we can make another purchase on a bigger camper.

We have a 7 year old. We bought a Tiffin MH with bunk beds. The top bunk is Kris's sleeping quarters. We took the mattress out of the bottom bunk and put a sound chair in there with his TV. We also Have a chest under there with his toys in the drawers. He can sit in his sound chair lean back and watch TV or his CD's. We try to stay in climates that afford staying outside most of the time so He has a large place to play when not using his room. We home school Kris and travel with no problem.

Our 94 year old kid (My Dad) sleeps on the couch. He says it's the most comfortable bed he has ever slept on. Our couch is a sofa sleeper but we leave it as a couch and remove the back cushions so it's the width of a single bed. We use regular bedding and pillows. We place a long footstool/ottoman next to the couch (just in case) to keep him from rolling off. He rarely moves once his head hits the pillow.
