Does anyone have any recommendations for camping in the Tempe Arizonia area. DW and myself will be going there and was looking around for a nice resonable priced campground where we can bring our grandkids.

The grandkids make it hard where most of the campgrounds are 55+. How long a stay, when would the stay be, and how close to Tempe do you need to be?

We were looking at staying 2 weeks to a month and close about 20-50 miles but that is not set in stone.

The reason I was asking for when is this is snowbird country and most of the parks are full January through March. If you were going for a many month stay there are combination mobile home and RV parks in the area that would accept children, but now I know you are staying a shorter time. Places we have stayed in the area that had kids in them were Usery Mountain Recreation area campground in Mesa, Arizona and Desert Sands in the north end of Phoenix, but both are probably too far away. RVparkreviews.com shows two campgrounds in Tempe itself and Apache Palms sounds kid friendly. In summer temps can get close to 120, so be prepared.

Apache Palms right in Tempe has been good for us. They have a pool but not much else for kids.
