hi, we are looking at a2011 montana high country and it has cable drive for the slides.our question , has anyone had this type before or now and what kind of problem are going to to occur if any

Randall, welcome to the forum, everything I have read indicates that cable drive systems are no better or worst than hydraulic / electric.....If you read enough you will find success and failure with all the RV systems...

Our 1996 CarriLite has a cable drive slide that works perfect 17 years later.

This is our second RV with cable drive slides. No problems whatever.Current unit now a yead old has probably had all three slides in and out 90 times, with no issues.

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES, I DIDNT KNOW HOW WELL THE CABLES WOULD HOLD UP TO RAIN AND AGEING, SOUNDS LIKE THEY DO WELL.
