I don't know if the housing market is improving or if we just got lucky. We listed the house for sale on Saturday and on Monday we had an offer. We countered with just a couple of minor adjustments and this morning the buyers accepted! And it's a good offer! Cash with no contingencies except the normal inspections and only a couple thousand $$ less than we were asking. Now we REALLY have to hustle to get rid of our "stuff"!

Thanks, George. You could have knocked us over with a feather when the realtor called to tell us about the offer.

Congrats . . .hope ours sells that fast in late April as well. New Horizons is working on building our new home, the tow vehicle is on order, and we're scheduled to pick it up in June. We were looking at an estate sale post house sale to get rid of stuff; but based on this morning's interview it doesn't look like we'll have enough to make it worthwhile . . .which means craiglist/donations will be used to empty the house. That will actually be easier for us in the long run than the estate sale would have been and we'll just take tax deductions for the stuff we give away.

Sherry, we're in the Jacksonville, FL area. I'm not so sure the market is improving much but more likely we got very lucky. A couple from Michigan just happened to be looking for a house on a lot exactly like ours. They were the first and only showing, made a cash offer very close to our asking price and after making a couple of small adjustmetns we accepted. Nobody we've talked to can believe it happened either!
We had our big tag sale this weekend and got rid of most of our stuff, including a car and the furniture. We still have some cleaning out to do but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting a lot brighter.
Once we close on the house we're making a bee line for Moab, UT where we have a workamping job waiting for us starting 4/15.

Congrats Ron! We also had our house sell quickly, but not as quickly as yours. 5 days for us. It IS a whirlwind after that. Enjoy the ride!

Thanks DorisandDave! It's more like we're hanging on for the ride! Furiously trying to get everything done before the house closing. I'm afraid we'll be flat out full steam ahead until we get on the road as fulltimers. Maybe then we can relax a bit!

Jacksonville to Moab is around 2,000 miles. That would take us at least two weeks but we have friends who could do it in three to four days. Hopefully you get plenty of time for the trip.
Anyway, good luck!
We will be at Hanna Park for a week starting the 19th, unless our replacement air conditioner is late.

Bill, if things go as planned we'll have a little over 2 weeks to get from Jax to Moab. Unfortunately we sure won't have much time to smell the roses along the way but we just couldn't pass up a free stay in one of our favorite places!
Good luck with the A/C replacement and the stay at Hannah. That's one of our favorite parks in NE FL.
