We just signed up for the rally, so I thought I'd say hello. We are not full time (can't drag my cowboy hubby away from his horses!), but we love our 5th wheel and love to travel between roping events. Cowboy is retired from GM, I'm a full-time Grammy and part time church librarian. Our family roots are deep in our little Texas town. When we travel we miss home, but when we're at home, all we think about is where we're going next! Besides his horses and travel, Cowboy is into fishing, golf and geo-caching. Oh, and he's taking piano lessons. In other words, he is thorougly enjoying his retirement!

Welcome to you, Kay.
I can relate to the cowboy to some degree since Jo and I have agricultural roots. However, horses aren't as comfortable to ride as today's trucks are.
Even if you aren't full-timing, enjoy your fifth wheel as much as you can. Who knows, if he gets tired of piano lessons, he might decide to get on the road more.
Feel free to ask any questions that you might come up with. There is a wealth of information within the minds of the forum participants.

Piano isn't the big problem, since he has a portable keyboard he can bring along. Golf clubs are easy to tote. He can even hook the bass boat up behind the 5th wheel for shorter trips. (we look like a train!) But his horses...oh, how he hates to leave those horses!

Welcome. We used to live in California and owned horses. I had a silver Arabian and my wife had a bay quarter horse. We moved to Virginia to be with our 4 grandsons and traded in the 8 legged traveling for a 6 tire traveling.
Much more comfortable.
Welcome aboard.
