Well, after a year of lurking on here and reading all the great posts, we finally joined.
Just a lil about us, Chris and Nadene, we both just retired from USAF after 20+ years and bought us a new RV and Truck for our retirement present. We actually started our full-time adventure in Oct 2011 and are having a blast so far.
Unfortunately....The company we purchased our RV from recently shut it's doors after 42 years...less than a year after we purchased our 2011 Carriage Cameo. So that great 2 year bumper to bumper warranty is now null and void...Such is our luck:(
We just signed to attend the Spring Rally in Tx. We are so excited to meet you guys and gals that have been so informative for us noobs. I can't describe how much this site has influenced our decision to start full-timing. Especially Howard and Linda's financial information. I sure appreciate them for divulging such personal information.

Welcome, Chris and Nadene! Our story closely resembles your own, as you can see by our signature :) Although we have not decided to go full time. Yes, we will miss having that warranty to fall back on also. But we do love our Cameo and have had relatively little to go wrong with it. It is still a great 5th wheel. Enjoy the rally, we did the one in Hershey last Fall. Pat K

Chris and Nadene,
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. Also, thanks to both of you for your service to our country.
As for the warranty on the Carriage, keep in mind that most warranties of importance will be those with the companies that supplied the various components of the RV. Carriage has had a reputation for quality, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Good luck with the lifestyle.
Terry

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :) We were a little disappointed at first to hear the news that Carriage went out of business... However, we love our CAMEO and have been enjoying "full-timing" so far... :) Looking forward to meeting everyone at the spring rally!

Very happy with our 08 Cameo too. Built very well. Looking forward to the Fall Rally in Oregon.
