Our Pinnacle 35LKTS that we bought off the dealer lot was quite loaded but did not have a Fireplace.
DW wanted a Fireplace so I shopped the Internet and finally found one at a RV Surplus Company for a great deal.
Also wanted to improve the sound quality of our Jensen Sound system. Contacted Jensen Customer Support and they suggested adding a Sub Woofer to the system and sent us the model number that would be compatible with our current Jensen Sound System. Found the Jensen Sub Woofer at a Marine Supply company online for a great price.
Finally got time yesterday to do the installation.

Wow, great job! Do you mind me asking where exactly you got the fireplace and about how much it costs? I would love to have one in our new rig but my DH thinks that it is a waste of space and "what the heck do you need a fireplace for" anyway??LOL
Great job, looks very nice!

We bought the Fireplace off EBay from a RV Surplus Company, won the bid for less than $100.
We have so much storage in our Pinnacle, we have not even used some of it yet so do not miss the cabinet space where the Fireplace was.
The Fireplace is great for keeping the living area warm on the cooler days, pretty good electric heat from it..

Rob, your fireplace looks great! You did a super job!
MaryBee, we are FTers & we have a fireplace that we just love. Our furnace has been giving us problems but we've been able to keep the rig warm with the fireplace when the furnace has been on the fritz. Also, just the ambiance of the fireplace makes the rig feel more homey to me. If we get a different RV in the future, it will have a fireplace.

Mary,
A number of folks like the fireplace because in RV parks where the electric is included, they can heat their RV without having the cost of the LPG with a furnace. We are "static" full-timers in that we'll live in one place for a few more years until we retire. We are in a mobile home park where we pay extra for the electric and the LPG. We've found that because of the cost of LPG, we can heat most of the time with electric heaters and the fireplace for less than running the LP furnaces.

Makes alot of sense Terry, I will have to "sell" this idea to my DH because we have the perfect cupboard spot for a fireplace!

HemiMan,
A comment and a question for you.
With a trip to Canada in mind, keep in mind that the use of the furnace is what helps heat the underbelly of the coach, unless one chooses to heat that area as well with a supplemental electric heater.
As for the small wood stove, have those gotten to where one doesn't need to exhaust the smoke outside? It has been many years since I had a wood-burner of any kind, so I was wondering. Also, wouldn't one need to keep a window cracked to feed oxygen to a wood burner?
Thanks for any answers you can give me on the wood burning option.

Thanks, Gene.
With all of those that I saw in their photos, they do have to exhaust the smoke to the outside. With that in mind, I'm not sure where I would put a wood stove without it interfering with space or slide operations.

Who wouldda thunk it??!! I never imagined that you could put a wood stove in an RV! The little stoves are really cute but as Terry said, the placement in the RV seems potentially problematic.

I would think a wood stove would take up too much space in RV. With the clearences needed from combustable materials and all.
