About the middle of Feb. we'll be heading west on I-10 and am wondering if anyone has traveled on 10 between Alabama and Texas lately.
A few years ago there were some very rough sections in Louisiana and am wondering if it's still that way or if it has been repaired.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim:
Glad all seems to be good with the new rig.Hope to see you and Linda in Kerrville?
Yes, I have traveled that route. As I recall, no worse than many of the Interstates or US Hiways.Perfect, no, but certainly not a problem or what I would call too unconfortable.Enjoy the trip.

You wont have any problems in the London Aire , the only really bad stretch is through Louisianna but we went through it a couple of months ago and barely felt the road.

Those rough areas are still there but not worth trying to avoid.

Like Bill said, there are still some rought areas. But nothing extreme. And certainly nothing I'd detour for.

Jim, We live in Lake Charles. You may want to take the 2-10 bypass. 1-10 bridge is down to 1 lane and the traffic can really back up.

Thanks for the replies! I knew I could count on the RV-Dreams family to come through.
Kind of figured there would still be some rough sections but hadn't heard of anything too bad.
We won't be able to make it to this Rally as we'll be well past Texas at that time. Maybe we can catch the next one.
James and Cindy, Thanks for the heads-up on the Lake Charles bridge, I'll keep it in mind when we get to the area.
Thanks everyone,
Jim

Good info. James, thanks for the warning about I-10 in Lake Charles. We will be headed East on I-10 some time after 2/20. How long is the bridge down to 1 lane?

Jerry, I tried to find out about the 1-10 bridge but could not find out the correct answer. There are signs at both ends of town telling truckers to use the 2-10 loop. Not all follow the signs so they back up the traffic. I found out today that there is still work on 1-12 at Denham Springs. If you can pass through between 9 am-- 3pm the traffic is not as bad.

I 10 in Baton Rouge is a bottle neck during rush hour, (slow hour) morning and PM. No way to avoid except to adjust time of passage if possible.
