Great news for both the laid off Carriage employees and the local economy. This will be a company worth watching to see what they come up with. I wish all of them the best!

I agree with the above comments and will add my own. It is always good to have competition in an industry as it drive innovation and quality. When we were researching for our RV, one of the brands seriously considered was the Carriage line. However, we soon found that Carriage wasn't too strong on the idea of modifying our RV to arrange what we wanted.
DRV Suites is very good with modifications, and since we prefered the "fit and finish" of the Suites over the Carriage anyway, it was easy for us to decide on a Mobile Suites.
If Evergreen's philosophy will be to allow modifications, they could have a winning philosophy and business strategy. I wish them all luck.

I understand that Drv just hired someone from Carriage and will be a asset to a already great Company... There are some who are retiring from Drv... and they will be missed.... As for custom building Drv is one of only a few who will make changes. Happy Trails....

I would agree that DRV will make changes. But I'm not sure I would call them a "custom builder". They make a fine product in their niche, but I don't consider them "custom". Just don't want people to be confused.....

I agree Jack and in no way would I want to confuse anyone. However I can't fit a $180,000 plus in my budget but I did get what I wanted for far less than a $100,000 dollars.. I did look at he New Horizon and yes its a great Coach but out of my price range. The Space Craft RV's are also excellent Custom builders but again the price isn't in my budget. But for those who want changes to the interior Drv is a choice.. and for far less money.... Happy Trails....
Evergreen and the closed Carriage company is starting a new line of high end RV.
